Whew, thank goodness my week of h-e-double hockeysticks is over! Monday's Economics presentation went well, I made an A on Tuesday's Management test, I think I did well on Wednesday's Economics test and yesterday's presentation was a DISASTER but we ended up pulling out a decent grade. Now all I have to worry about is next week's 10-12 page paper and I'm home free for a little while!
Now, I am fully aware of the fact that life could be worse but everyone's stresses are big the them so I feel for all of you out there who are stressing over what to have for breakfast. I know it can be hard!
With such a big week I feel like I deserve a little fun this weekend in the form of embroidery, art shows, mardi gras parties and a little relaxing so that is where I will be! Over and out!
Oh yeah, don't forget to vote for my buddy Paul McDonald on American Idol this Tuesday night!! Not only is he about as cute as they come but he is incredably humble and an amazingly kind friend so give him some love!
If you want to listen to his full album with his band The Grand Magnolias, you can listen to it here.

I should have been studying...
This week very well might kill me! I'm just sayin'. I have a presentation and paper due tonight, test tomorrow, test Wednesday and another presentation on Thursday. Not to mention the 10-15 page paper that is due next Thursday that I haven't started! I am SO ready for my July 30th graduation date!!!
So this weekend during the time that I should have been studying, I decided that I needed a little sewing therapy instead.
I would like to introduce you to my laundry room... pretty bad aye? Not such a great first impression when you walk in the side door!
After a little bit of measuring, cutting, and hemming we have this:
I am so happy with how the final product turned out! Who needs a masters degree when you can just sew curtains for the rest of your life!

My Garden Goals
I just finished the March issue of Southern Living and it has REALLY gotten me thinking about my spring garden.
Below are a few pictures of Skippy's Garden via The Tasteful Garden. The Tasteful Garden was featured in Southern Living and grows heirloom tomatoes here in Alabama and ships all over the country.
I WANT this garden!
Over and out...

I WANT this garden!
As you know, this winter's garden has been a major dud. Last year's was great with an abundance of carrots and turnips so I'm guessing it's this freakishly cold winter that has really done us in. I am choosing to put this winter's failure behind me and put forth some serious effort for this spring.
So far all I have done is test the soil, all levels are good except our nitrogen which is a little low. However, this weekend my plan is to amend the soil in one of my 8ft by 4 ft boxes and maybe add a few more turnip, Swiss chard and carrot seeds since the Alabama Cooperative Extension office says its not too late. The other box actually has a few broccoli flowers showing their little faces so I'm going to leave those alone.
My next plan is to buy myself a mini cold frame so that i can start my seed early and not have to spend a small fortune on plants when April rolls around. If all goes according to plan I can start my tomatoes and peppers in the cold frame this month.
Now all I have to do is con Tyler into building me another raised bed and filling it with top soil...not a fun task. I want to devote one box to herbs and maybe some sunflowers and use the other 2 strictly for veggies.
Here is the wish list for this spring:
- 2 tomato plants
- 4 types of peppers
- zucchini
- squash
- okra
- sweet potatoes?
- basil
- cilantro
- chives
Over and out...

I'm a Winner!
Well I guess it's only proper to first say Happy Valentine's Day to all!
To be honest, Tyler and I don't really get into V-day; judge all you want, we live every day like it's Valentine's day! Haha gross, can you really picture me saying that? I actually did look into buying a card yesterday while at Publix buying a big ole chicken for dinner but by the time I got to card numero dos I was ready to toss my cookies. When I got home and told Tyler that he would not be getting a card from me this year he was very grateful because apparently he to couldn't stomach the thought of it either. I guess our system works for us!

Today was my first day of perusing her blog but she has already made me want to:
- Have a baby bump (no, I'm not really ready for a baby but look how cute she is with her's!)
2. Commit to my garden
3. Learn to take arty-fartsy pictures so I can hang them all over my house.
4. Whip out the sewing machine.
*ALL PHOTOS WERE TAKEN FROM AURA'S BLOG*
In conclusion, I hope this creepy obsession-laced post will encourage you to check out her blog, I think you will like it too!

Happy Birthday Tyler!!
Happy 30th birthday to the T-man! Hop over to his blog and show him some love!
Now here are just a few tidbits of info that you should know about my man:
- I THINK his all-time favorite band is The Flaming Lips.
- He would move to Scotland if I would only let him.
- His fantasy job is to be a photographer/woodworker.
- If he had to choose one last meal, I think he would want a huge serving of roasted bone marrow.
- I have never in my life smelled cologne on that man.
- He would give you the shirt off his back in winter if you asked for it.
- He wore the most hanus shoes before I came along.
- He knows a lot about a lot of things, meaning he is the BEST Jeopardy teammate EVER!
- When he was a kid, he and his mom had a make-believe Scottish cooking show called "The Lorna and Angus Show" and he would LOVE for you to ask him about it!
- He is not a big fan of being the center of attention which makes birthdays especially painful, so tell him to get over it and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Oh, and he likes to sing...especially rap music |
Thanks Kim Box Photography for this great pic! |
